The Places We Dream of Visiting – And Why We Should Teach Our Children to Dream of the Right Ones
Traveling the world is one of the most exciting things we can do. Whether it’s hearing about the bustling streets of Paris, the grand pyramids of Egypt, or the scenic beauty of the Maldives, these destinations often spark excitement and wanderlust in our hearts. We dream of experiencing these places ourselves, and we look forward to showing them to our children when the time comes.
However, as Muslims, there are other places that hold much greater significance to us — places that go beyond the typical tourist destinations. As parents, it’s important to instill in our children a love and reverence for these sacred landmarks, which are not just beautiful or exciting, but are deeply woven into the fabric of our faith. Two of the most cherished places in Islam are the Kaaba in Makkah and the Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah.
Teaching Children the Value of the Kaaba and Masjid an-Nabawi
The Kaaba, the House of Allah in Makkah, is the direction of prayer (qiblah) for Muslims all over the world. Its importance is undeniable, and the journey to see it in person is a dream many Muslims cherish deeply. In the same way that children get excited to visit famous landmarks, we should help them understand why the Kaaba is special and why it is the ultimate destination for every Muslim.
Likewise, Masjid an-Nabawi, the mosque of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Madinah, is another place that holds unparalleled significance. It is where we connect with the spirit of Islam’s early days and the life of the Prophet (PBUH). Visiting these holy sites isn’t just about sightseeing — it’s about spirituality, history, and connecting with our faith on a much deeper level.
But how can we make these places feel as exciting to our children as the other landmarks we dream of visiting around the world?
Building the Dream with Islamic-Themed Toys
One of the ways we can instill a love and reverence for the Kaaba, Masjid an-Nabawi, and other sacred Islamic landmarks in our children is through play and imagination. Children learn best through play, and what better way to teach them about the significance of these holy places than through Islamic-themed toys?
Our building brick models provide an interactive and fun way for children to explore and learn about these important landmarks. These models are designed to engage their creativity and curiosity while allowing them to connect with the history and significance of the Kaaba and Masjid an-Nabawi in an educational and enjoyable way.
When children build their own mini Kaaba or mini Masjid an-Nabawi with these bricks, they’re not just playing — they’re learning about the places that every Muslim should aspire to visit. It’s a way to plant the seed of hope and excitement for the journey to these sacred places, as they grow up with a connection to the heart of our faith. Every time they play with these models, they’re reminded of the beauty and importance of these landmarks, and insha’Allah, they’ll begin to dream of the day they will witness them in person until one day they can say, "I want to visit the Kaaba with my own eyes," or "I can't wait to pray at Masjid an-Nabawi."
